remoteFull-Stack Web Developer
We are looking for Full-Stack Web Developers who have a passion for developing robust systems and scalable customer-focused products using cutting-edge technologies. As part of Merlino's growing and dynamic Technology team, you will build end-to-end product features to create the most delightful user experience. You may leverage the entire MEAN technology stack to realize these goals and will be part of a team that isn’t afraid of challenges. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wire-frames to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. One of your primary focuses will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Skills and qualifications
- Firm grasp of the JavaScript and TypeScript languages and their nuances, including ES6+ syntax
- Proficient understanding of web markup (HTML5, CSS3/LESS/SASS, TailwindCSS is a big plus)
- Excellent proficiency with client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks (Angular 10+, NextJS)
- Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
- Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
- Work with a large arsenal of open source and cutting-edge technologies such as ExpressJS, NodeJS, MongoDB, Docker, NextJS
- Maintain and develop all parts of complex service-oriented systems
- Data migration, transformation and scripting
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes (MongoDB, Mongoose)
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization
- Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as Git
- Familiar with Amazon Web Services is a plus
